StockSense (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides an inventory management solution. We value your privacy. This policy outlines our data practices for the StockSense mobile application.

2. Data Collection & Storage (Offline-First):
StockSense is an offline-first application.

• Inventory Data: Product details (names, quantities, prices, categories, and expiry dates) are stored locally on your device in a private database. We do not transmit, collect, or store this data on any external servers.
• Local Storage: All data remains under your control and is deleted if you uninstall the app or clear the app’s data in system settings.

3. Permissions & Sensors:

• Camera Access: The app requires camera permission to scan barcodes and perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for text input.

  • Processing: Image processing happens in real-time on your device using Google ML Kit.
  • Storage: No photos or videos are recorded, saved, or transmitted to any server.

• System UI: The app interacts with system overlays to provide a consistent user experience.

4. Third-Party Services:

• Google ML Kit: We use Google’s ML Kit for on-device OCR and Barcode scanning. This service may collect diagnostic information as per Google’s standard privacy terms, but it does not send your product images to us.
• No Analytics: We do not use third-party tracking, ads, or analytics SDKs that collect personally identifiable information (PII).

5. Data Security:
Since your data is stored locally, its security depends on your device’s security. We recommend using device-level encryption and passcodes.

6. Children’s Privacy:
StockSense does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
