Everything I Need to Publish Your Android App on Google Play

Before I can publish your Android app on Google Play, I’ll need a few files and details from you.

I’ve organized everything below in the same order I normally complete the Google Play Console setup, so you can easily prepare everything I need before we start.

If you’re missing something, don’t worry. Let me know and I’ll tell you what is needed or how I can help.

Google Play Publishing Checklist:

To create your app in Google Play Console, I’ll need:

1. App Details
  • App Name — Maximum 30 characters
  • Package Name — For example: com.company.appname
  • Default Language
  • App or Game
  • Free or Paid

I’ll also complete the required Google Play declarations, including the Developer Program Policies and US Export Laws declaration.

2. Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy URL

Your app needs a publicly accessible Privacy Policy.

If you already have one, simply send me the URL.

If you don’t have one yet, I can help you prepare one for your app.

3. Sign-In Details

If any part of your app requires users to sign in or access restricted content, I’ll need working demo access for Google’s review team.

Please provide:

  • Demo email / username
  • Demo password
  • Phone number, if required
  • OTP instructions, if applicable
  • Any other steps required to access the app

This is important because Google needs to be able to access the relevant parts of your app during the review.

If your app does not require login or restricted access, just let me know.

4. Ads

I’ll need to know:

Does your app contain advertisements?

  • Yes
  • No

If you’re using AdMob or another advertising SDK, please let me know.

5. Content Rating

I’ll complete the Google Play Content Rating questionnaire based on your app’s content and functionality.

To help me complete it correctly, please provide accurate information about your app’s content.

6. Target Audience

I’ll need to know who your app is intended for.

Please provide the appropriate target age group for your app.

For apps targeting children or younger users, additional Google Play requirements may apply.

7. Data Safety

I’ll need information about the data your app collects, shares, or handles.

Please let me know whether your app collects or shares information such as:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Location
  • Photos
  • Contacts
  • Device information
  • Financial information
  • Health information
  • Other personal or sensitive data

Also let me know if your app uses third-party services or SDKs such as:

  • Firebase
  • Google Analytics
  • AdMob
  • Facebook / Meta SDK
  • Payment services
  • Other analytics or advertising SDKs

I’ll use this information to complete the Data Safety section accurately.

8. Additional Declarations

Some apps require additional information depending on what they do.

I’ll check whether your app needs any of these:

  • Government Apps
  • Financial Features
  • Health

If one of these applies to your app, I’ll let you know what additional information is required.

9. App Category & Contact Details

I’ll need:

App Category

Tell me what your app does and I’ll select the most appropriate Google Play category.

Store Contact Details

  • Support email
  • Phone number, if applicable

This information may be displayed to users on Google Play.

10. Store Listing

I’ll need:

Short Description: Maximum 80 characters

Full Description: Maximum 4,000 characters

App Category: I’ll also make sure the listing follows Google’s metadata and store listing policies.

11. Store Listing Assets

Please provide the following graphics:

  • 512 × 512 px
