Everything I Need to Publish Your iOS App on the App Store

Before I can publish your iOS app on the App Store, I’ll need a few files and details from you.

I’ve organized everything below in the same order I normally complete the App Store Connect setup, so you can easily prepare everything I need before we start.

If you’re missing something, don’t worry. Let me know and I’ll tell you what is needed or how I can help.

App Store Publishing Checklist

To create your app in App Store Connect, I’ll need:

1. App Details

To create your app in App Store Connect, I’ll need:

  • App Name — Maximum 30 characters
  • Primary Language
  • Bundle ID
  • SKU
  • Platform — iOS
  • App Store Connect access — If you want me to work directly inside your account

The Bundle ID must match the identifier used by your iOS app.

If you already have a Bundle ID registered in your Apple Developer account, simply provide it. If not, I can help you set one up.

2. App Information

I’ll need the following information for your App Store listing:

App Name — Maximum 30 characters

Subtitle — Maximum 30 characters

Primary Category

Secondary Category — Optional

Copyright

Description — Your full App Store description

Keywords — App Store search keywords

Support URL — A publicly accessible support page

Marketing URL — Optional

I’ll make sure the listing information is properly prepared for App Store submission.

3. App Privacy

Apple requires privacy information for your app.

I’ll need:

  • Privacy Policy URL
  • User Privacy Choices URL — Optional, if applicable
  • Information about the data your app collects or shares
  • How the collected data is used
  • Whether data is linked to the user
  • Whether data is used for tracking

If you’re not sure what your app collects, tell me what services and SDKs your app uses and I’ll help determine what needs to be declared.

4. Age Rating

Apple requires an age rating for every app.

I’ll complete the Age Rating questionnaire based on your app’s content and functionality.

To complete it correctly, I’ll need accurate information about things such as:

  • User-generated content
  • Social features
  • Messaging or chat
  • Advertising
  • Alcohol, tobacco or drug references
  • Medical or wellness content
  • Sexual or suggestive content
  • Violence
  • Gambling or simulated gambling
  • Other mature content

If any of these apply to your app, let me know.

5. App Store Screenshots & Media

Please provide the required App Store screenshots for your app.

iPhone Screenshots

For the supported iPhone display sizes required by Apple.

Apple currently allows:

  • Up to 10 screenshots
  • Up to 3 app previews

iPad Screenshots

If your app supports iPad:

  • Up to 10 screenshots
  • Up to 3 app previews

Apple Watch

If your app supports Apple Watch, Apple Watch screenshots may also be required.

If you don’t have professional App Store screenshots, I can help design them for you.

6. App Store Listing Assets

I’ll need the visual and promotional assets required for your listing, including:

  • App screenshots
  • App previews — Optional
  • App icon / required app assets
  • Promotional text — Optional

I’ll make sure the assets are prepared according to Apple’s current requirements.

7. Build / iOS App File

Before submitting your app, I’ll need a valid iOS build uploaded to App Store Connect.

If you’re providing the build:

  • Make sure it is the final version you want to submit
  • The Bundle ID must match your App Store Connect app
  • The build must be uploaded through an approved Apple upload method

If you’re using Flutter, Xcode, or another development setup, I can also help with the build and upload process if that is included in your project.

8. App Review Information

If your app requires login or restricted access, Apple’s review team needs working access.

Please provide:

  • Demo username / email
  • Demo password
  • Phone number, if required
  • OTP instructions, if applicable
  • Any additional instructions required to access the app

I’ll also need:

Contact Information

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Phone number
  • Email address

Review Notes

Tell me anything Apple’s review team needs to know about your app or how to test important features.

If necessary, you can also provide an attachment to help explain the app or testing process.

9. Export Compliance & Encryption

If your app uses encryption, Apple may require export compliance information or documentation.

Please let me know if your app uses:

  • Standard encryption
  • Custom or proprietary encryption
  • Encryption provided through third-party libraries or SDKs

I’ll check what needs to be completed in App Store Connect.

10. Content Rights & Additional Declarations

Apple may require additional information depending on your app and the content it provides.

I’ll check whether your app requires:

  • Content Rights information
  • Digital Services Act information
  • Medical device declaration
  • Vietnam Game License — If applicable
  • Other regulatory information required for your app

If any of these apply, I’ll let you know what information is required.

11. Pricing & Availability

Tell me:

App Availability

  • Worldwide
  • Specific countries or regions

Pricing

  • Free
  • Paid

If your app is paid or includes paid features, additional Apple agreements and configuration may be required.

I’ll configure the appropriate pricing and availability settings in App Store Connect.

12. Distribution

I’ll need to know how you want the app distributed:

  • Public — Available to everyone on the App Store
  • Private — Available through Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager

For a normal public App Store app, I’ll configure the standard public distribution option.
